Introduction

As a responsible corporate citizen, ABF aims to act in an environmentally and socially responsible manner at all times. Sustainable development is about ensuring a better quality of life now and for future generations. It is founded on principles of social progress, linked to economic security and respect for the global and local environments. One of the underpinning principles of sustainable development is that people are nourished and clothed. In this way all of ABF’s subsidiary companies contribute to sustainability wherever we operate by providing wholesome and nutritious foods or food ingredients, animal feedstuffs and quality affordable clothing.

Safeguarding our workforce and our products, consideration for our environmental impacts and ensuring legal compliance are core requirements for all our managers. Our HSE priorities are to:

  • Reduce the number of workforce injuries and their severity;
  • Continue improving our management of key HSE risks:
  • Continue independent auditing of our operational sites;
  • Continue independent verification of our key HSE data; and
  • Extend our reporting of progress.
